What Is Pellecome?
Pellecome is a hormone replacement treatment that delivers steady levels of hormones through a pellet the size of a grain of rice implanted invisibly beneath the skin. These pellets deliver a consistent level of testosterone or estrogen to the body over time at a level that is precisely measured to meet your needs.
At Pryor Health, we understand the importance hormones have on our physical and mental well-being. Pellecome hormone replacement therapy is a safe, clinically-proven option to deliver the hormones you want to achieve your optimal mental and physical state without the uncertainty of hormonal fluctuations.
Our hormones play a vital role in our mental and physical health throughout our lives. When our hormones are out of balance, that means that they are not within the expected range. This can have a variety of negative effects.
You’ve probably heard or seen commercials advertising solutions for “Low T” pop up in your feeds. Low T refers to testosterone deficiency; a common ailment for men, that grows increasingly more likely with age. Testosterone deficiency can have numerous unwanted side effects, including decreases in:
While there is still some debate whether low testosterone is the sole reason for these changes, there is little doubt that proper hormone replacement therapy using a method like Pellecome can lead to significant increases in these areas.
As women go through life, hormone imbalances happen. However, women should not feel that just because these changes are natural, nothing can be done to lessen the negative effects of hormonal imbalance. Common impacts of hormonal imbalance include:
These “normal parts of growing older” are not unavoidable. With hormone replacement therapy, women can enjoy stronger, healthier bones and skin, and avoid or delay the onset of many of the physiological responses to aging.
Pellecome is a form of bio-identical hormone replacement therapy. That means the hormones released into the body by Pellecome are indistinguishable from the hormones that are naturally produced by our bodies. A molecule of bio-identical testosterone or estrogen looks and acts exactly like human testosterone or estrogen. It just happens to be plant-based, instead of produced by humans.
Unlike other forms of hormone treatment therapy, Pellecome’s subdermal pellets release a sustained, consistent, safe, and effective dose of hormones into the bloodstream. Creams and ointments are messy and can wind up transferring hormones to your loved ones if used incorrectly. Oral treatments are inconsistent, which can result in hormonal imbalances and trigger instability in their physical and mental effects. With Pellecome Rockford patients can come into our office every 3-4 months to discreetly have a new pellet inserted beneath the skin. The pellet takes care of the rest.
Your Rockford Pellecome hormone replacement therapy journey begins with a consultation with one of our specialists. This is where we learn about your goals for hormone therapy and answer any and all questions you may have about your treatment.
This is a safe space where you can be honest about your body goals with a trained medical professional who wants to make sure you feel like you. If it appears that Pellecome may be able to help, we will do a full blood panel to make sure that you qualify for the procedure. If the results indicate a hormonal imbalance, we will schedule your first implantation and give you detailed instructions on what to expect.
Implantation
If you determine that Pellecome is right for you, implantation is a quick and easy process. A small incision will be made in the skin (typically above the buttock) and then our trained specialist will insert the pellet. The procedure usually only takes about 15 minutes.
Aftercare
Following the implant, you can walk around, but are encouraged to avoid lower body exercise for a day or so, as well as baths or showers for 24 hours. This is to lessen the chance of infection. Once the bandage is removed, you can resume normal activities. In the days following implantation, the hormones will begin traveling through your body. Some patients report feeling different within a few days of implantation, but the full results will likely take between 3-6 months to take effect. Some patients initially report mood changes similar to a mild version of puberty, but these effects are short-lived as your body adjusts to the new hormones.
At Pryor Health, we are committing to your health and wellness with treatment options like Pellecome hormone replacement therapy. If you have been feeling sluggish or experiencing symptoms that feel like hormone imbalance, we encourage you to schedule a consultation immediately so you can feel like your best self.
You are invited to book a treatment at Pryor Health where we offer a full range of Surgical, Medspa and Wellness services to take years off of your appearance. We are known for our results and care of our patients.
